What we need to quote a replacement machine
A nameplate photograph, four dimensions and one answer about the coupling are usually enough to open a technical conversation.
Most replacement enquiries stall because the request is for a quotation before anyone has established what has to fit. In practice the fastest route is a short set of facts.
A legible nameplate photograph gives the rating, voltage, speed, frame and, on hazardous-area machines, the certificate reference. If the nameplate is unreadable, a photograph of the machine in situ with a scale reference is a workable starting point.
Four dimensions do most of the rest: shaft height, foundation bolt centres in both axes, shaft diameter and shaft extension length. These determine whether a standard frame can be used or whether an adapter is needed.
One question closes the gap: how is it coupled — direct, belt or gearbox? A belt drive loads the shaft radially in a way a direct coupling does not, and that changes the bearing selection.
With those, an engineering response is possible within a few working days. Without them, any quotation is a guess with a price on it.
