The station had six pumps from three suppliers with three different motor interfaces, and a history of thrust bearing failures traced to units originally specified for horizontal duty.
All six positions were standardised onto a single vertical series with correctly dimensioned thrust bearings, using adapter frames where the pump interfaces differed.
Six positions now carry one spare-part list instead of three. No thrust bearing failure since commissioning.
